Install\u00e9e sur deux nuits tout un week-end, vous ne pourrez pas la rater : situ\u00e9e sur le d\u00e9but du Boulevard Lancastel, la sculpture en impose par ses couleurs et sa \/>histoire, celle d\u2019un personnage qui pourrait repr\u00e9senter les travailleurs de<br \/>l\u2019ombre que sont les employ\u00e9s d\u2019Emma\u00fcs, ceux qui sortent de la mis\u00e8re en<br \/>allant, au service des autres, collecter et remettre dans le circuit des objets<br \/>initialement \u00ab jet\u00e9s \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant plus de cinq ans, artistes et \u00e9l\u00e8ves ont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 cette \u0153uvre majestueuse,<br \/>intitul\u00e9e L\u2019Homme debout.<\/p>\n<p>Ce personnage avance et repr\u00e9sente l\u2019espoir.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u0153uvre s\u2019inspire du personnage du sculpteur italien Boccioni (<em>L\u2019homme en mouvement<\/em>) qui indique le mouvement de la marche.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elle mesure 12,80 m de long sur plus de 5m de haut.<\/li>\n<li>C\u2019est une \u0153uvre tr\u00e8s color\u00e9e qui repr\u00e9sente le m\u00e9tissage r\u00e9unionnais.<\/li>\n<li>L\u2019\u00e9tendard de notre culture (ancienne colonie, \u00eele \u00e0 sucre, m\u00e9tissage, etc.) est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par un Poteau Mitan.<\/li>\n<li>La roue symbolise le travail, le mouvement, l\u2019\u00e9nergie mais aussi le monde agricole r\u00e9unionnais.<\/li>\n<li>Du gr\u00e8s est utilis\u00e9 pour le c\u0153ur, le ventre, la colonne vert\u00e9brale, le visage de l\u2019homme en marche mais \u00e9galement pour repr\u00e9senter certains travailleurs d\u2019Emma\u00fcs (qui sont accroch\u00e9s \u00e0 la roue). La couleur terre est volontairement choisie.<\/li>\n<li>Le bouclier symbolise la protection.<\/li>\n<li>Les trois vagues permettent de faire le lien entre les personnages et les machines mais renvoient aussi \u00e0 notre insularit\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Les outils sont volontairement en aluminium brut. Des techniques d\u2019\u00e9clairage permettront de les mettre en relief tout comme le soleil. Ici seront repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es les lumi\u00e8res artificielles et crues des usines sucri\u00e8res.<\/li>\n<li>Une ligne rouge entre les outils permettra de se repr\u00e9senter l\u2019\u00e9nergie que d\u00e9gage le corps humain en utilisant les outils.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les parties de l\u2019\u0153uvre se compl\u00e8tent toutes par le rythme donn\u00e9 par l\u2019homme debout qui est en train de marcher.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs classes de m\u00e9tallerie ont particip\u00e9 au projet, accompagn\u00e9es des professeurs Thalgott Fran\u00e7ois &amp; Bolos Bertrand.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 diff\u00e9rentes techniques :<br \/>D\u00e9coupe de t\u00f4les de diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9paisseurs ; Oxycoupage ; Pliage ; Per\u00e7age ; Montage.<br \/>Mat\u00e9riaux : Acier ; Aluminium ; Terre cuite (gr\u00e8s) ; Peinture.<br \/>Pour l\u2019artiste Jack Beng-Thi, ces moments de partage avec les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et leurs professeurs, restent une belle et enrichissante
