We took part in a Literature programme last June at Language Link, London. The course offered us opportunities to share lesson ideas and activities with teachers from Spain, Italy and Holland.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

FISH AND CHIPS<\/p><\/div>\n

The teachers, Mel and Francis- we had already met them for the culture course in June 2017- combined creative methodology and literature. They gave us literature teaching approaches and strategies (cultural model- language model- personal growth model) and also techniques to apply English literature in the classroom. We analyzed poems, short stories and songs to raise students \u2018awareness and creativity. Moreover we focused on different features of pronunciation such as connected speech.<\/p>\n

We used Task-based learning method to create a lesson plan based on extracts from \u201cThe Pickwick papers\u201d by Charles Dickens focusing on Dickens\u2019 description of characters.<\/p>\n

We went for a writers\u2019 walk in Bloomsbury and learned more about British culture in that area and on our last day , we visited Charles Dickens museum, 48 Doughty street, a five-storey house where Dickens moved in in 1837 , the year Queen Victoria began her reign.<\/p>\n

To conclude, we would say the literature course was interesting and useful to design new activities in our classrooms. In addition we have met really kind teachers from Europe; we have shared, exchanged and discussed a lot on various topics so it was a positive experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
