L’Universit\u00e9 technique du Kenya (TU-K) a r\u00e9cemment sign\u00e9 un protocole d’accord avec le Lyc\u00e9e Professionnel Christian Antou (LPH) et le Lyc\u00e9e D’enseignement G\u00e9n\u00e9ral et Technologique \u00c9variste De Parny (LEP). Les deux institutions travailleront ensemble sur des questions acad\u00e9miques et professionnelles dans le but de renforcer les liens dans les domaines du tourisme et de l’h\u00f4tellerie, ainsi que dans des langues comme le fran\u00e7ais, l’allemand et l’anglais.<\/span><\/p>\n Le MoU est motiv\u00e9 par la volont\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper et de maintenir les \u00e9changes linguistiques, culturels, acad\u00e9miques et d\u2019expertise entre les \u00e9tablissements d\u2019enseignement.<\/span><\/p>\n La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation fran\u00e7aise comprenait Marjorie Coste, conseill\u00e8re du directeur de l’acad\u00e9mie locale de La R\u00e9union ; Lionel Mezoul, conseiller en \u00e9volution professionnelle, R\u00e9gion Acad\u00e9mique de La R\u00e9union ; Nathalie Arnaud, enseignante au Lyc\u00e9e Professionnel Christian Antou ; et Mustapha El Idrissi, instructeur au Lyc\u00e9e D’enseignement G\u00e9n\u00e9ral et Technologique \u00c9variste De Parny.<\/span><\/p>\n M. Bernard Clouteau, attach\u00e9 charg\u00e9 de l’\u00e9ducation et du fran\u00e7ais, de l’ambassade de France au Kenya et en Somalie \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent et a sign\u00e9 le protocole d’accord au nom de l’ambassade.<\/span><\/p>\n Le vice-chancelier, le professeur Benedict Mutua, ainsi que le vice-chancelier adjoint charg\u00e9 du d\u00e9veloppement institutionnel et des entreprises (IAE), le professeur Paul Wambua, ont sign\u00e9 le protocole d’accord au nom de l’universit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n Les autres membres pr\u00e9sents \u00e9taient\u00a0: Directeur de l’\u00c9cole d’H\u00f4tellerie et d’Ecologie Humaine Prof. Richard Makopondo ; Chef d’\u00e9quipe acad\u00e9mique, \u00e9tudes en h\u00f4tellerie et loisirs, professeur Boniface Kihima\u00a0; Dr Japheth Kwenga, ma\u00eetre de conf\u00e9rences au D\u00e9partement d’\u00e9tudes sur l’h\u00f4tellerie et les loisirs ; et la chef d’\u00e9quipe acad\u00e9mique, langues modernes et classiques, Dr Teresa Otieno, qui est la coordinatrice de cette collaboration \u00e0 TU-K.<\/span><\/p>\n Le Lyc\u00e9e Professionnel H\u00f4telier La Renaissance est un \u00e9tablissement d’enseignement professionnel d\u00e9termin\u00e9 \u00e0 proposer un enseignement technique et professionnel de pointe en h\u00f4tellerie-restauration pour pr\u00e9parer les futurs professionnels qualifi\u00e9s du certificat d’aptitude professionnelle (CAP) au Brevet Technique Sup\u00e9rieur (BTS).<\/span><\/p>\n La relation de travail de la TU-K avec la France remonte \u00e0 2016, lorsque l’universit\u00e9 \u00e9tait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e lors de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition du Kenya Day, qui s’est tenue \u00e0 Paris, en France. L’\u00e9v\u00e9nement a r\u00e9uni les directeurs des relations internationales et des liens de diverses universit\u00e9s, centres de recherche et \u00e9tablissements d’EFTP fran\u00e7ais.<\/span><\/p>\n L’universit\u00e9 a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9dition de l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement Kenya Day qui s’est tenu \u00e0 Paris, en France, o\u00f9 elle a eu des discussions avec des dirigeants fran\u00e7ais de l’\u00e9ducation et des repr\u00e9sentants de neuf universit\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n Des pr\u00e9sentations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faites sur des questions d’actualit\u00e9 li\u00e9es aux relations diplomatiques de longue date entre le Kenya et la France et principalement ax\u00e9es sur les partenariats techniques et d’enseignement sup\u00e9rieur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n TU-K travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec l’Ambassade de France \u00e0 Nairobi et a accueilli \u00e0 plusieurs reprises les chefs de mission, dont le Dr Mathieu GUERIN, Attach\u00e9 de Coop\u00e9ration Scientifique et Universitaire, l’ancien Chef du D\u00e9partement de Coop\u00e9ration et des Affaires Culturelles, M. The two institutions will work together on academic and vocational issues with the aim of strengthening links in the fields of tourism and hospitality, as well as in languages such as French, German and English.<\/span><\/p>\n The MoU is motivated by the desire to develop and maintain linguistic, cultural, academic and expert exchanges between educational establishments.<\/span><\/p>\n The French delegation included Marjorie Coste, advisor to the director of the local education authority in La R\u00e9union; Lionel Mezoul, career development advisor, R\u00e9gion Acad\u00e9mique de La R\u00e9union; Nathalie Arnaud, teacher at the Lyc\u00e9e Professionnel Christian Antou; and Mustapha El Idrissi, instructor at the Lyc\u00e9e D’enseignement G\u00e9n\u00e9ral et Technologique \u00c9variste De Parny.<\/span><\/p>\n Mr Bernard Clouteau, Attach\u00e9 for Education and French at the French Embassy in Kenya and Somalia, was present and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Embassy.<\/span><\/p>\n The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Benedict Mutua, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Institutional and Enterprise Development (IAE), Professor Paul Wambua, signed the MoU on behalf of the University.<\/span><\/p>\n The other members present were: Director of the School of Hospitality and Human Ecology Prof. Richard Makopondo; Academic Team Leader, Hospitality and Leisure Studies, Prof. Boniface Kihima; Dr Japheth Kwenga, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality and Leisure Studies; and the Academic Team Leader, Modern and Classical Languages, Dr Teresa Otieno, who is the coordinator of this collaboration at TU-K.<\/span><\/p>\n The Lyc\u00e9e Professionnel H\u00f4telier La Renaissance is a vocational training establishment committed to providing cutting-edge technical and vocational education in the hotel and catering sector, preparing future qualified professionals from the Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle (CAP) to the Brevet Technique Sup\u00e9rieur (BTS).<\/span><\/p>\n TU-K’s working relationship with France dates back to 2016, when the university was represented at the inaugural Kenya Day, held in Paris, France.
