    This year, the EURO section staged a play entitled \u201cthe Tempest\u201d written by Shakespeare.
    \nThis is the story of castaways who arrived on an island, which was inhabited by a
    \nmagician called \u00ab\u00a0Prospera\u00a0\u00bb, her daughter, her slave, and some spirits. In this story there is love, action
    \nand humour.
    \nWhenever we had English classes we worked on our texts, dances and acting. We
    \nalso worked on our self-confidence and our oral fluency. We\u2019ve been working on this
    \nplay since the beginning of the year every wednesday and during some of our English classes.
    \nOn April 2nd, 3rd and 4th, we were finally ready to perform in front of the school and our
    \nparents, we performed nine times. It was very funny because we spent a lot of time
    \ntogether and we became closer to each other. It was also interesting to speak into
    \nmics.
    \nQuestion: How did you feel being on stage?
    \nNawel: It was a little daunting at the beginning, but gradually, we started to feel more
    \ncomfortable and felt free to play more and to have more fun.
    \nElise: I think it was a very funny experience because we were playing with friends. Some of the
    \nscenes were very goofy !
    \nTo perform, we had fancy dressed costumes made by a dressmaker. We also had help from
    \nolder students of the section, to create the setting and to handle the lights. We played in the
    \namphitheater.
    \nWe want to thank Mrs. Darderes for being nice and very patient with us. We also
    \nwant to thank her for being supportive.
    \nTo sum up, we loved to play the Tempest !<\/p>\n

    THE TEMPEST<\/em><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/em>Depuis septembre nous avons eu le plaisir de monter la pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00ab The Tempest \u00bb de Shakespeare, avec nous, la classe de DNL Anglais, et des \u00e9l\u00e8ves volontaires. C\u2019est une pi\u00e8ce captivante qui m\u00eale magie, vengeance et r\u00e9demption. A l\u2019origine, elle raconte l\u2019histoire du duc Prospero, exil\u00e9 sur une \u00eele d\u00e9serte avec sa fille Miranda. A l\u2019aide de ses pouvoirs magiques, Prospero d\u00e9clenche une temp\u00eate pour attirer ses ennemis sur l\u2019\u00eele. Au fil de l\u2019histoire, les personnages sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des \u00e9preuves et \u00e0 des r\u00e9v\u00e9lations qui les am\u00e8nent \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur le pardon et la r\u00e9conciliation. Finalement, la temp\u00eate se dissipe, laissant place \u00e0 une conclusion o\u00f9 les protagonistes trouvent la paix et la r\u00e9demption.<\/p>\n

    Dans notre adaptation, nous avons fait quelques modifications pour moderniser et simplifier l\u2019\u0153uvre. Comme par exemple Prospero qui \u00e9tait \u00e0 la base masculin est devenu un personnage f\u00e9minin, Prospera. Nous avons \u00e9galement rajout\u00e9 des danses et un chant final. Nous nous sommes r\u00e9parti les t\u00e2ches en fonction de nos pr\u00e9f\u00e9rences : certains se sont consacr\u00e9s aux danses, d\u2019autres \u00e0 la peinture ou encore \u00e0 la gestion du son, des lumi\u00e8res et de la salle. Les plus ambitieux ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de jouer des grands r\u00f4les. Pour pouvoir s\u2019organiser et r\u00e9p\u00e9ter, nous nous sommes vus tous les mercredis apr\u00e8s-midi ainsi que quelques samedis matins avant les repr\u00e9sentations qui ont eu lieu d\u00e9but avril. Les costumes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faits sur mesure par une couturi\u00e8re. Ce projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 une belle exp\u00e9rience pour nous. \u00c7a nous a permis de nous rapprocher, d\u2019am\u00e9liorer notre aisance \u00e0 l\u2019oral devant un public et de voir notre projet aboutir apr\u00e8s un an de travail et d\u2019investissement !<\/p>\n
