South Africa 2018 – Home Sweet Home (Last Day) // by Anaëlle

This is our last day in South Africa/Cape Town, the sadness was attacking our hearts just by thinking of the end of this fabulous stay. The seperation with our penfriends was really difficult but we leave this place with a head full of memories ! We thank the South African families for taking care of us during thoses 2 weeks. We have created wonderful and unforgettable friendships. We visited incredible places and had a lot fun !

After hundreds of hugs and tears, we got in the bus and left Reddam House for the airport of Cape Town.

Once at the airport, we managed to find our smile and to accept our departure. After checking in our luggage, we stayed in the Duty Free for about an hour and a half before boarding for lunch and to buy last souvenirs.

  ,

Our flight Cape Town – Mauritius lasted 6 hours. We met a group of high school students from Jean Joly who was very nice. We had a second lunch (which was delicious by the way) and we ate a lot of candies, whoops. Some of us were really tired and fell asleep during more than 4 hours..

At Mauritius we had to wait 15 minutes for the boarding. This flight lasted 30 minutes.

We finally arrived in Reunion Island at 11:00pm. The bus was a bit late so we arrived at Hégésippe Hoarau at 1:00am (to  our dear parents’ great misfortune of ). We were really happy to see our family after 2 weeks ! We came back home with a big smile and a head full of beautiful memories.

Thank you to everyone who made this trip in South Africa possible. Thank you to our headmaster Mr. Rivière and, obviously, thank you to our teachers who came with us on this trip ! We discovered a lot of incredible places and we met a lot of lovely people. We had the opportunity to enrich our English with new vocabulary and to learn a little more about another country.

I, personally, had one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I really enjoyed this trip and I met people I will never forget. South Africa was truly fun, interesting and instructive. Thank you again for giving us this opportunity
