A SONG FOR THE PLANET

We added a few lines to the Joni Mitchell Big Yellow Taxi song. We recorded it with very humble means during the English camp in Cilaos.

We also worked on a music video but, unfortunately, we didn’t manage to edit it. Anyway, here are the lyrics, Joni Mitchell’s and ours :

A song for the environment.
Joni Mitchell, Big yellow taxi

They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel *, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot

Chorus :

Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got
Till it’s gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

They took all the trees
Put ’em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see ’em

Chorus

Hey farmer farmer
Put away that DDT now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!

Chorus

Turtle watch out for plastics
beware for the dangerous lights
smell the plants we’re planting for you
Be careful with the fisherman’s nets

Chorus

Réunion people
leave the old car home
breathe the fresh air
ride your bike and forever young

Chorus

Hey poachers, poachers
We’ve already killed the Dodos,
save the polar bears and the butterflies
live up to our humanity
