Good-Bye Ellen !
Hello. My name is Ellen Bentley and this year I was the English Language Assistant at the Collège du 14ème !
I worked here from October 2015 until the end of April 2016 and I had such a great time. I worked with lots of different classes and several different teachers, and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. You all taught me about Reunion Island : what I should do, where I should go and even what I should eat! In return, I taught you about my language, and my life in Britain – from adventures in London, to cultural traditions in Scotland, and from traditional Easter celebrations to Galentine’s Day (ask Mme Maillard and class 3K !).
I was overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone at the school, all the teachers were very welcoming and all the students were enthusiastic, friendly and always smiley (even when they were tired on a Tuesday morning) ! The school trips to the volcano and the lagoon in Saint Pierre were definitely highlights, but I enjoyed every lesson with every class and it makes me very sad to say goodbye.
I wish you all good luck in the future, and advise you all to come to England one day – it’s awesome !
Hopefully I will be back soon, but until then: good luck, and thank you for a wonderful year.
Ellen
